Inside the village

A boutique hotel in Fort Worth, in pictures

These photos show Hotel SOMA the way guests see it: 31 private casitas and 4 custom Airstream suites wrapped around a gated courtyard in South Main Village, on Fort Worth's Near Southside. There is no lobby and no long hallway. Every stay has its own private exterior entrance, and the courtyard is the shared space in between.

The private casitas. Each casita is a standalone, two-story space of about 500 square feet, with a loft bedroom above the living area, a king bed with premium linens, a kitchen with a stovetop, an in-room espresso machine and a walk-in shower. Rotating artwork from our collaboration with William Campbell Gallery hangs in every one.

The Airstream suites. Four custom Airstreams sit on their own private decks under the string lights, silver shells against the big Texas sky. Inside, each has a queen bed, an efficient kitchenette and its own espresso machine. They are the most photographed part of the property, and there are only four.

The courtyard. At the center is a century-old live oak strung with lights, with fire pits, lawn, a stage, yard games and a pickleball court around it. Look for the hand-painted "Welcome to Hotel Soma" mural, the "Casitas in the City" sign and the orange sunburst, the mark you will see across the property. Guest parking is free and on-site, behind the gate.

The photos move from bright morning to blue hour on purpose. By day the courtyard is calm: coffee on your deck, agave and cactus in the planters, and a short walk to breakfast on South Main. After dark the string lights come on, the fire pits get going and the Airstreams glow under the oak. It's the same place either way, a few steps from your door.

Hotel SOMA is a gated, boutique alternative to a traditional Fort Worth hotel, made for couples, business travelers, medical visitors and anyone who wants a walkable stay with privacy and modern design.
